My name is Gurinder Singh Gurm and I’m an Ex-University of Leicester student. I graduated last year and am aiming to be opening an anime and modelling dedicated shop in Leicester some time within the next year. I love anime (as do we all) and would love to open up a shop stocking all the things fans really want to see, I have intentions of opening within the store an anime-café where all fans can come together, chill out, watch anime, read manga, grab a cuppa, play card games (pokemon etc.) or anything anime related really.

Before the store actually opens I am going to be attending several anime events to get the stores presence spread and more importantly to get more ideas of all the things fellow fans would like to see in an anime store. I love talking to fellow anime fans and I feel there is nothing as important or enjoyable than getting ideas and opinions from people who are passionate about anime as I am. I always have fun discussing what my favourite anime/manga are and what everyone is looking forward to and what others like to watch and recommend and . . . . well you get the picture, I could go on forever.

I decided to open an anime store just because I love it so, its one of my passions and I thinks its fantastic how interest in anime has grown over the past few years. The only thing I hated was how expensive it was to get hold of the things you really want. Also I wished there was somewhere where I could just go to fulfil my anime and modelling needs. I love Forbidden Planet International but they only have limited stock (although expanding) and also Games Workshop for the modelling side, but sadly there are no Gundam Kits there. So I decided to start my own shop and give people like me what they really wanted. I wanted to call my store AnimeNation but someone beat me to the punch . . .by a couple of years, so I settled with Gundam Nation. I picked G because well, one for Gundam and because of my name (Gurinder S Gurm) I have a slight fondness for the letter :P. After that the work began and the rest as they say is history.
Below is some info on my anime ‘likes’ (Sorry to bore you all, I just though hey, its my site, might as well use it a little like a blog, why not) But by no means do you have to read it or even agree, although id love to hear your opinions on what you love watching.

Favourite Anime
My interests are in anime are varied and I love pretty much anything and everything, My top 5 anime of all time are:
1.         Samurai Champloo
2.         The Melancholy of Harahi Suzumiya
3.         Samurai X (OAV) Trust & Betrayal
4.         Cowboy Bebop
5.         I don’t have a 5th because there are just so many amazing ones out there, currently love anything by Studio Ghibli, BERSERK, Fist of the North Star, Mushishi, FMA, Trigun, Haibane Renmei, Guyver (new series), Full metal Panic Fummofu, Ichigo100%, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, GANTZ, Gun X Sword, Hellsing, so many more, arggghh too many.
Manga is pretty easy, BERSERK, Gantz, Ranma 1/3, Bleach and BLAME! are probably my current favourites and in that order.

Gundam
Mwa ha ha ha, I love Gundams (as I’m sure you can tell) but sadly I haven’t seen all there is just yet. Wing, Seed, and Destiny encompass what I grew up with and I have seen some of Gundam X and bits of the Universal Century (the classic stuff) as well as Endless Waltz and the F91 Movie. So far I have to say my favourite suits have to be the Sazabi from Char’s Counterattack, The Freedom (I loved it from the first moment Kira Yamato piloted it, awesome!) and the Hi-Nu Gundam, oh and I love the Devil Gundam from G-Gundam (seriously weird). Probably SEED was my favourite series but Ill always have a soft spot for Gundam Wing since it’s what hooked me on Gundam in the first place and the angelic Zero from Waltz is my favourite Perfect Grade Model Kit.

Otherwise I love theatre, computers, bit torrent and movies, especially asian movies from Japan and Korea. I also have a serious soft spot for Hana Yori Dango Live Action, I highly recommend the Live Action over the anime, I love it. OK enough blabbing on about myself, hope you guys like the site and I look forward to hearing your suggestions and opinions.
